JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Systems expert configures, enhances and supports business infrastructure systems (LAN, WAN, and
Wi-Fi networks ) in support of ANSYS business. The role is responsible for the validation of basic business
requirements and design approaches, basic and advanced system configuration on IT systems and environments,
and providing expertise to IT and Ansys software installation and licensing. This role is able to work independently
and participate as a technology resource in larger projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. IT:
Setting up IT policies and responsible for implementing the same across the organization.
Software and hardware inventory management.
Develop processes, optimization methods, risk management strategies and responsible for IT
purchases.
Manage Network, Cloud, Server, Storage, and CyberSecurity for network connectivity support
Network monitoring and reporting.
Perform and ensure periodic firmware updates on network equipment
Conduct new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades projects
Perform root-cause analysis: analyses network, hardware and software issues with infrastructure and
client systems test and promote enhancements to existing infrastructure systems
Support on-premise data centers to include switches and firewalls and SD-WAN environment.
Communicate and drive infrastructure improvement ideas within a project-based framework
Participate in on-call support as needed in the event of a system outage or failure
Provide documentation on installation and configuration procedure
2. Ansys Software Installation and Licensing:
Provide technical support to Ansys customers on installation and licensing queries with the help of the
technical team
Knowledge of Linux and Windows clusters/server
Knowledge of High-performance computing (HPC) & its deployment.
DESIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or in a related field.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in core IT technologies working with small to medium
companies managing the IT, such as Unix, Windows, Networking, Virtualization, Cloud, or Security
Minimum of 3 years of Linux system administration experience
Detailed understanding of managing network infrastructure (i.e., switches, firewalls)
Network related protocols: TCP/IP, SSH, NFS, CIFS, FTP
Proficient with automation and scripting languages
Ability to conceptualize and implement process and design improvements
Detailed understanding of operating system concepts
Detailed understanding of distributed computing environment concepts
Experience installing and configuring Linux workstations and servers, especially Some major Linux
distributions, Redhat, Suse, CentOS
Detailed understanding of some key Linux-related technology and tools, NFS, NIS, File Systems (EXT4,
XFS), init.d, systemd, X-Window systems, RPM, yum, zipper, iptables
Ability to identify and remedy hardware and software failures
User support experience, including onsite, remote support
Experience installing and configuring workstations
Experience in engineering software installation and licensing for windows and Linux clusters would be
added advantage.
Excellent English skills, both written and verbal, and understanding multi-country, region culture
environment
The above position is based in the Dubai office of Fluid Codes.
